Designing and translating our values into our products is a subject that runs through all our product development issues. We are keen to share this process with our customers.
All our products are imagined and designed with heart and soul in our Paris offices, then our backpack and luggage collections are lovingly and meticulously crafted by our factories in China.
These luggage craftsmen have been making backpacks and travel bags for top brands for over 30 years. As for our textile products (hats, towels, socks), they are made in our factories in Poland and Turkey.

The design of our products
At Cabaïa, we engage in a rigorous creative process to develop our products.
Before each product development or improvement, our product team seeks ideas by analyzing current trends, studying the competition and gathering feedback from employees and the customer community. Indeed, customer feedback is carefully noted, whether collected via our post-purchase questionnaires or in questionnaires specially dedicated to the development of our new products. Customers are at the heart of our thinking and directly influence product development, such as the addition of new features or colors.

From concept to finished product
Our product engineers use this data to come up with several design proposals.
Developing a new product is a lengthy process, sometimes requiring more than a year's reflection before finding the product design that best meets expectations. Once the design is finalized, our collection manager and her team rush to develop new patterns and colors, always taking into account trends and customer preferences, and finally the prototyping stage begins.
The prototype phase involves rigorous testing and fine-tuning to ensure that the final product meets quality standards and customer expectations. Prototypes are evaluated for aesthetics, functionality and compliance with the current season.
Finally, once the prototype has been approved, production is launched, with particular attention paid to the selection of suppliers and materials, favoring high-quality, eco-responsible options. This is our commitment to creating innovative accessories while remaining true to our values of sustainability.

Commitments at Cabaia
Ingenious accessories that respect animals and the planet. We work with eco-responsible materials and ensure that our accessories have as long a life cycle as possible. In particular, we are constantly working to improve the reparability of our products and the availability of spare parts..
To this end, we have banned the use of disposable plastic in our products, and prefer to transport our goods by boat and train.
We're committed to the SPA and the SeaCleaners, we practice upcycling on several of our product ranges such as our backpacks, which are made from GRS®-certified recycled plastic, and we're now part of the B Corp™ movement. Oh yes, and then, all our bags come with a lifetime guarantee.

Minimizing our impact
We work every day to minimize our environmental impact, and that means :
- Zero plastic : Since 2020 we have banned the use of disposable plastic in our products and replaced our packaging with kraft and corn starch.
- The use of recycled materials : To reduce the use of raw materials, we try to incorporate as many recycled materials as possible into our products. In the meantime, we are still using GRS-certified materials.
- Choice of transport : We prefer to transport our products by boat and train, and rarely use planes in cases of extreme necessity. But this is an epiphenomenon, not the norm, and our product and transport teams work hard every day to avoid this situation.
- The Cruelty Free : All our products are EVE vegan-certified, with the exception of a few hats featuring wool that is either recycled or comes from farms that do not practice muesling and are certified as such, being Woolmark®-certified.
