For a 2–3 day trip for one person, a backpack (18–30L) or a duffle bag is usually enough.

Travelling as a pair? A compact cabin suitcase (40–45L) can often fit both your essentials.

What to look for:

• Airline-friendly dimensions: max. 45 × 36 × 20 cm (EasyJet) or 40 × 20 × 25 cm (Ryanair, free with standard ticket)
• Enough space for: 1 pair of shoes, 2–3 outfits, travel-size toiletries
• Lightweight & compact, easy to fit under the seat if flying without a paid option

Tip: A backpack paired with a toiletry bag is a space-saving combo that can keep you organised—and help avoid extra fees.

• Measure and weigh your backpack, vanity case or suitcase before flying
