Previously, our polybag could be composted—but only if you had a home compost system, which not everyone does. We also couldn’t be sure how many of them were actually being composted.

Now, with our new recyclable plastic bag, you simply toss it in the recycling bin and that’s it—mission accomplished! This approach means 100% of our packaging can be recycled, leaving no single-use waste behind.

Our old polybags weren’t transparent, which complicated stock management for both our retailers and Cabaia pop-up stalls.

By using recycled plastic, we don’t tap into fossil resources like petroleum. We simply repurpose existing plastic and, in turn, reduce our carbon footprint. A small step for us, a big step for the planet!

Producing our old polybag raised certain issues. It could lead to environmental externalities such as farmland use, pesticides, and significant water consumption.

In comparison, using recycled plastic relies on existing materials. It’s a more sustainable choice, reducing the need for new raw materials and minimizing the environmental impact of production. With recycled plastic, we no longer need to turn corn cobs into packaging. Plus, we can leave the corn to do what it does best: make popcorn 🍿!

Although our old polybag was biodegradable under certain conditions, it wasn’t suitable for all storage types—especially in humid or hot environments where it could degrade quickly.

In contrast, our new 100% recycled plastic bags offer greater durability and resistance, ensuring optimal product protection without sacrificing recyclability.
